Getting lost on a Norwegian fjord: Modalen

While in Bergen, I was lucky to go on a one-day fjord cruise organized by Study Bergen – an awesome organisation for those studying in Bergen.

We left Bergen early morning by boat. The sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds but we ended up having nice weather – cloudy but no rain (yes, this is nice weather in Norway). It took us 2 hours to reach the little town of Mo, located at the far end of the fjord we were navigating on, where there is nothing but a boat-stop for people like us. We got around Osterøy, Norway’s biggest inner island.

There is no need to mention the fact that I spent the whole time outside the boat, taking pictures, amazed by Norway’s marvelous nature, rocked by the boat’s movements and breathing in the cold but pure air.

This day-trip was a real resourceful way of getting lost in Norway’s nature. The only thing you had to do was watch – and take pictures, of course.

Stunningly, here’s how the very end of a fjord looks like

If you have the opportunity to go on a fjord cruise, don’t think twice, just go! And show us the results. 😉
